Default 67 Camaro "The Victim"

Well.....after six and a half years and a few set backs, I finally have another 67 Camaro. I have learned a few things about Pro Touring cars, shops, vendors and myself while working to get to this point. My plans have changed more than a few times and the number of build sheets are as numerous as the wheel selections at SEMA. Mainly I've realized what's right for me and it's going to be a lot of fun.

My goal is to have a well balanced car. Performance, looks, comfort and not to hard on the budget. It sounds simple enough...right?

After a lot of searching, I found the right car right here on L-G. I bought the car from PSV (Paul), who bought the car from JEFF-SAN, so it's been around here a for a few. Paul lives in Farmington, NM so I grabbed a trailer, drove out and drug it home. It is an outstanding car to start a build with.

The car started life as fairly plain Jane and at some point started receiving a lot of RS/SS upgrades and is a pretty impressive clone. I have to admit, it's been a lot of fun driving the car and the LS6 doesn't suck.

After a few months of fun with the car, it was time to get things started. After a lot of debate, I settled on AME suspension and chose their nose to tail Sport GT package. The front sub has AME's latest C7 components and their 4 bar setup out back. The suspension, along with a few other parts, arrived in one heck of a crate.

Pretty much game on once it arrived.

I picked every thing up from the freight terminal and started the parts stack in my garage.

Craig sent some great pictures of everything going together and being shipped. Kind of cool to see this part of your build going together.

I asked Craig to advise me when everything was ready to ship and this was how I was notified.

Thanks man. That might have to be the new project name "Victim". It's going to be a lot of fun. Wishing I had a lift in my garage.

I kept the car on the road as long as possible. Figured I'd have one more week after dropping the front sub off to be powder coated....it took three days!

So....I cleaned up the garage, positioned the car and called Jeff...a.k.a. JWCarguy.

Jeff has owned over forty (yes I said 40) first gen Camaros. The man knows these cars very well. He is a very good friend and has been there for me every step of the way. It's usually a lot of which has kept me on track and on budget.

Jeff arrived early Saturday morning and spent 16 hours helping me take the car apart. Thankfully it was only 104* that day.

Here we go.....

I was impressed with just how clean things on the car where.

No turning back now.

(Quick photo at Cars and Coffee...Jeff's $100 beater, as he calls it, and the Victim)

I didn't want to break out the new wheels other than to just have a peak at them, but...no rollers yet. So we bolted them to the AME front sub for the install. Hopefully I'll have a set of rollers in the next day or two.

This is how the car sits for the next few days.
