Default EFI kit on Gen1 motor or LS Swap

Hey guys, I'm having some issues over here. I have to replace the motor in my 67 Camaro. I can either replace the motor with another Gen 1 motor and put an EFI kit on it OR I can go full monty and do an LS swap. All I'm after is for daily driver status and reliability. Granted, I want some juice too but it'll probably never see a road race course or a drag strip.

I've been doing a lot of research and am just not so sure which way to go, so I figured I'd ask. Anyone?

Ha, Thanks Vega$, I was just trying to gather all the info I could, but you answered it for me. Everyone says you're the authority on this swap.

My first 67 had the standard SB350 in it and when it when BOOM in a big way I replaced it with another SB350. It was a lot of fun and I drove the car a lot, but I wished I would have gone the LS route.

My current build has an LS and I honestly think it's the way to go, especially if you are going to put a lot of miles on your car.

Why do you wish you would have gone the LS route?

Well, i did go the LS route. 10K later (and i got off a little cheap), and i think it may be umongst the best 10k i've ever spent. "THE other" site has a "5 reasons an LS is better than a first gen SBC" thread. its a good read and its what sold me on it.

I feel like i have "almost" as much torque as a BB, but 90lbs lighter than a SB. And its sees redline for sustained periods (stock 04 GTO engine) and so far so good...absolutely love it.

I ended up going the non-LS route. When I looked into all the bits and pieces it's going to require and all that I'd have to change out, it made more financial "cents" at the moment to go with a 383 and get an EFI kit. I'm sure I'll eventually get there but I'm just trying to get this car back on the road without having to sell myself on the corner. Thanks for all the advice!

I went the other other route...had a quadrajet built and kept my 383 SBC carb fed...

I just couldn't see spending the $3,000 it was going to take to EFI my 383 the right way when I could go with an LS for about the same money. And I didn't want to change everything else just to go LS (headers, trans, accessories, fuel system).

I'm starting off with a Holley 750 for a month or so until the EFI shows up. Maybe I'll want to keep it and I'll send the EFI back. Who knows...
