Default Project "Full Throttle Facelift"

So the fun begins (again). The Fed Ex driver called and my '71 RS will be here bright and early tomorrow morning! So if you guys have been down this road- you know my pain- I've got to try and sleep tonight

So here is the skinny- The car is a very nice stock car with a ZZ430 and turbo 350.

The plan... to take a basically stock but fresh car... it sold at Barrett's last Jan....and give it a mild pro-touring face-lift on the cheap- under 7k

This is what I have done so far-

a new design Rushforth rim- this will be the first set- with smoked titanium centers.

lower it about 10-12"- seriously- this thing sits high

I've ordered Baer brakes for all four corners.

I want to upgrade seats and suspension- still undecided on brand- any other helpful ideas are welcome. I know the hood is ridiculous- so I am looking into a hood and one piece rear spoiler- but I don't know if I will mess with it yet.

let's hear your ideas

Wow Chris! That is a really clean looking Z. I'm looking forward to seeing it in July.
I might have a home for that hood and spoiler if you are dumping them. Maybe the wheels too.
As for ideas on the facelift, I think you are on the right track with what you already said. Lower, wheels (can't go wrong with Jason) and different hood & spoiler.
Oh yeah, stick a manual trans in it. It is such a nice car already why change anything else?

Awesome! Sounds like you have a good plan. Maybe you should give Tyler at Anvil a call and see what they have in the way of a Carbon Fiber hood for you. I'm sure whatever you do will be cool!

Awesome looking car already!!
I would do the wheels/tires like you stated and the lowering of the car.
My personal opinion, I kinda like the hood. Gives it some character! lol
And the other thing I would do is something with the exhaust tips. I like the dump offs under the rear bumper also, not like pictured. Just an idea. (But, to each his own.)
Nice car and keep us updated please!

FWIW i think that the window trim looks out of place. Maybe paint that black since the windows are tinted. But other than the things already said thats about all i would change.
