Default After market efi

Are there any efi kits that are good and affordable I've seen kits as high as 3600$

My motor is a 70 4 bolt main and built pretty nice with barely any miles so if i can use it instead of an ls swap that would save me some work

is there an affordable way to add efi ? Old stock set ups ?

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Will a kit like this be as good a turn key option as an ls engine ?

Fast and MSD would be the two "budget options" worth looking at IMO.

Thanks just found the fast kit for a little over 2 grand thnx

Do you think it will compare to having an ls1 (350 70 block 360ish horsepower) with the fast set up ?
Just trying to figure out the direction I'm going to go

You might look around for a pull out LS engine with harness. You can make more horsepower with the LS engine, but at least you make around 400. The 1970 Gen 1 blocks were prone to oil leaks, so that will be resolved as well. You will have to upgrade the fuel system, which includes the tank.

Are you looking for a throttle body kit or multiport?

I'm not really sure just learning right now what do you suggest ?

An ls motor is what ill probably do but I'm just trying to cover all the bases
My engine is strong never leaked oil or anything just has so few miles i figure ill look into all the options currently pricing out used lq9s ls2s ls1s even 5.3s
Thanks alot for the suggestions I appreciate it

The price for aftermarket EFI has definitely increase since the 1990's. Accel made this unit in the past. Maybe you can get one for Gen 1 sb.

It is multi port injection, but was rather popular in early 1990's. John Lingenfelter designed it in the 1980's. Here is an article on it.

If I was upgrading to efi, then I would want a unique design than is what offered now. To get something rather unique, then you have to spend the money for a Gen 1.

Here is old article on fuel injection, but it give you more options.

If you just starting with FI do it right and go to real engine management and those "easy and fast, plug and play".
Dont get me wrong, they do work but you get so much more with systems like MegaSquirt, it last version 3 it is so great.

Now ( or soon, I'm not sure is it out yet) you can get up to 8 lambda's and 8 EGT's. Turn ECU to seqvental and close loop, it will know what cylinder is witch and will tune your engine almost automatic,
You just need to fill the tank and drive all kind of roads with all different styles.
