Wow! Where do you live that they can shoot paint without a paint booth? Just assuming based on the overspray on the floor and no booth evident in any of the pictures.

I guess it is a good thing, because I did not see a respirator in any of those pictures. Would hate to see a guy spraying paint without a respirator trapped in a paint booth. I have seen people paint cars in their garages like that but I don't know of any shops around here that can get away with not having a booth.

EXactly what the guys said!...

Yep, it happened to me.. took it to a buddy's shop..thinking It would be in and out. 4 YEARS later.. I got it back.. the last year and a half I was pulling teeth to get it back. Met by a barrage of the same lies!... my problem... trade work. Insurance paid out about 7k for new hood and fender/paint work.. I traded 12K of Construction Services. - WHat I got.. was a 7K paint job. flaws upon flaws.... But id didn't stop there.. I was a glutton for punishment.. I took it back, after I re-assembled it. (they were supposed to, but after I saw all the paint chips from their attempts, I said, I'll do it, pointed out all the unfortunate flaws, and said I'd bring it back to touch up. .... There it went.. scheduled the touch up and buffing.. said it be in and out in a week and a half................2 months later.. I picked it up last week.! only to find it with other damage, chips and paint runs....Ahhhhhh!

Yes this was a collision shop, although it started off a a muscle car restoration place, that curtailed into a full on collision shop.

We have the same story.. Glad to be out of Paint Jail.. (my exact term as well).

Paint on floor may be from color-sanding?

This thread gives me good confidence that I can get similar results in my home garage for less money and only myself to blame when the project drags on. My Falcon has been patina for so long that its time for a new coat.
