Default Mini tub kits 68-72 chevelle

Does anyone know of a company who makes agood factory looking mini tub kit for a 68-72 chevelle. I know ABC Performance makes one for 64-67 but I'm not sure if it will work on the later models.

Thanks in advance.

Wow, '68-'72s already have pretty big wheel-wells! What are you trying to put under there?

Have you looked at the '64-'67 units? Since '64-'72 essentially used the same frame, I would think the differences are minimal.

Shiny Side Up!

Lol!!! Well as of right now I have a set of 325/50/15 drag radials on 10" wheels. But if I have to go with a set of 17 or 18's I love the look of the tire combo ABC Performance has on their mini tub kit which is about 13" wide. Not sure which direction I'm gonna go but as far as fitting a big tire under the car at one time I put a 315/60/15 under the car and it looked like a pulp wood truck going down the road. Lol not to mention no room for side to side movement. I may stick with what I have for now just weighing out my options before making a final decision. Thanks for the comments.

Not that difficult to do yourself, if you have the time. I did mine. Got a 345/30/19 in there easily.

Did you just split the originals and ad a piece in the middle? Thanks for the input.

Howard, wassup bro? You know I'm running a 345/30/20 on 20x13's. Unfortunately, there are no companies right now producing wheel tubs for our body style. I know...sucks, huh? I plan to do mine the easy and cheap way you mentioned...just split them down the middle and add a few inches.

I only cut an inch out, max. Put in some stiffners, then capped it with a 3/16" plate. I drilled holes in the new plate to line up with each stiffner and plug welded those as well as the plate to the rest of the frame. A hell of a lot stronger that before. Also added a removable cross brace above the panhard bar for more strength, had to run exhaust through it also. Overkill maybe.
