Default 4l60E question

I have a 67 Camaro with 5.3 and 4L60E trying to install lokar floor mount shifter do i need the neutral safety thing on the side do i just remove it?

ok it looks like i dont need it. I removed the nut and the arm and remove the plate.

Unless its physically unable to be used, I would definitely keep it. I have never used that shifter, but I have done 3 builds with the factory 67 floor shifter. They are a tight fit but I was always able to get everything to work. Any reason you want to remove it?

i dont know what it is and it look like it was going to be in the way. the plate has two connectors on it..

I installed it on mine and wouldn't recommend taking it off. If you plan on using a new wiring kit from a company like American Autowire, their harness includes the connection for that switch.

Also, you will need to purchase a similar switch to operate your reverse lights. That switch will be mounted to the linkage on the trans.
