Default Project "Payback"

I have been lurking around here for quite a while and thought I would introduce my project that has recently started. It took me nearly a year to find the right car for the project. I ended up purchasing a all original 307 car with 90k original miles and have already sold a bunch of parts I don't need to the guys on camaros.net. I had purchased another car but found it to be rough and ran across this car and couldn't pass it up.
I named the car Payback due to a long story that I'll keep fairly short. I purchased a 1968 camaro at the beginning of my senior year in highschool for $3500. The dealer I bought it from agreed to paint it any color I wanted as part of the deal. I decided on corvette yellow with black Z28 stripes. I picked the car up and paid cash. It had a 400 small block and turbo 350. Turns out the car was destined for the junk yard before the shop rescued it. I took it to prom and raced the car out on the country roads quite a few times and did well. The 400 was tired along with pretty much all the mechanical parts. I spent the next three years and every dime I made restoring the mechanical parts of the car. I built a 355 with a steel crank, decked block, double hump heads ported and polished, etc. Rebuilt the entire suspension, brakes, transmission, repainted the engine copartment, underneath, bushings etc. Well I finally had it just the way I wanted it and had about 2000 miles on the clock when I decided to move to Las Vegas. I stored it and planned to come back for it the moment I had a place to keep it. That never happened. I got a phone call that it had been stolen and they did eventually find the car. It was stripped and I couldn't take it back. I got a measly 7500 bucks from the insurance company.
I have always wanted to build another one so I am going to payback the piles of dog **** that stole it by building my idea of the perfect 1969 camaro resto mod style. Most of the parts are already bought and I will post updated throughout the project.

Cool story, I'm sure it will be nice as I've seen alot of your posts and you do have some nice parts lined up.

If you are in vegas have you contacted Tyler at ATS? www.t56kit.com he can hook you up with some nice parts.

I haven't had a chance to speak with Tyler at ATS. But I will keep him in mind in the future. These are the newest pictures. The wheel shot you saw on protouring was the previous project with my wheels hung on it. I'll post the real deal when its mocked up and mini tubbed.

My project is unfortunately on hold due to a fallout with the builder that was going to do the car. After a year and a lot of promises that weren't kept. I'll leave it at that. Looks like more payback is in order.
I am talking to someone about taking over and if things work out I will be doing a roller and completing the rest of the car. The engine shows up next week at my house. Good news with the engine. It made 593 hp at 6000 rpm and still climbing and 587 lbft at 3700rpm. I ended up getting a march setup and didn't realize it doesn't have some of the bling so I will be adding it when it gets on the engine stand in my garage.
Here is the dyno:

The Prodigy Rescue Team is on the way! To cool of a story! To cool of a customer! To cool of a car! Can't say no. Besides, I need something to drive in Vegas!
