Thank You! You know you've arrived when your car's in a music video, though! Nice!

Default Project Intro: 68 Camaro "Cha Ching"

Looks stunning

So I’m sitting here on vacation and I jumped on tapatalk to kill some time while my family is still sleeping. To say I have a love for 67-68 Camaro’s is an under statement as the first car I ever owned was a 67 Camaro that I bought and put in storage immediately because I didn’t tell my parents as I was only 18.

Somehow I clicked this thread again today and decided to start from the beginning. Reading your journey to this point was very touching and inspirational.

Thank you for sharing you story and the build of this car. One day I would like to see the car in person maybe go for a ride and then buy you dinner. Someplace cheap as I have a daughter going to college next year.

Ince again beautiful car and awesome story.

Hey Marty - I appreciate the kind words and I'm certainly thankful that others find this thread inspirational...I can't think of any better compliment! Sounds like you were a renegade at 18...totally bold move to hide a 67 Camaro from your parents! I wanna hear more of that story

Hopefully one day, our paths will cross and you're definitely welcome to a ride! Lucky for you, I'm a cheap date!

Here's some pics of the fire extinguisher mounted. Was gonna go with a 2.5lb unit until I realized it'd be way too big to fit where I wanted it so went for the 1.5lb'er instead.

Just a random car pic. Been driving it around town every chance I get to make sure if something happens, I'm at least close to home. It's proven to be quite reliable and although it's not been driven numerous miles at highway speeds, it does get pretty good gas mileage, despite some spirited revs! I even managed to set off a parked car alarm as I drove down the main strip at 30 mph in 3rd gear, much to the relief of my 13 year old who's been giving me grief for swapping out the 427 BB for the LS.

Went thru all my receipts the other day and made an Excel spread sheet of every part number, description, source, price and date...partly because I wanted to see what the total was at this point and partly because I wanted to have a comprehensive list of everything on the car.

I had decided that I wanted another car to build so I made a trip to Memphis to look at a 68 Camaro shell with a clean title and VIN tag, or so I was told. Long story short, the car was pretty clean, however, the guy's shop had removed the VIN tag and put it on his aftermarket body. The cowl tag was still on the car and as the conversation unfolded, that's when it became apparent that the shop had swapped the VIN tag and so that deal went down the drain with a wasted trip...too bad, really, as the current body had a lot going for it and his mom had purchased the car new in 68, he was just unwilling to give up the VIN tag.

On a happier note, I did get registered for the Hot Rod Power Tour today. Looking forward to it!
