Default 1968 Camaro - Project Track Rat

Item Location (City/State): Orange County, CA

Price: $94,000 or offer SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD

Description: Long

I'm not online much so best to email me at [email protected]

I've been building this car for 11 years.. so it's sort of sad to sell now that it's getting done. There have been numerous stories on this car and the build. I'm selling due to a complete lack of time and I need to choose between my wagon project and this.. the wagon can carry lumber from Home Depot so it won! ha!

You could not duplicate this car for $150k, so for a brand new car with all brand new higher-end parts I think my price is damn good. The block alone retails for over $5k and that's just one part. Car is located in SoCal and is just getting finished up with minor items like some wiring, tuning, and adjustments. It will go back to TMI for an interior tune up.

Price is $94,000 but I'm open to offers, cash is king

SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD

So, let's get to it:

1968 Camaro
Paint by Best Of Show Coachworks in Escondido CA

It's a custom blue from the Axalta catalog. Nicer in person than in photos since it always looks lighter in shots. Hood, front valance, and rear valance (and rear spoiler) are all carbon fiber from Anvil. The rear quarters were widened about 1.5 inches per a side for a widebody look. The craftsmen over at JCG in Ventura did the stretch. It took forever to get right, but it looks factory.

The car is just getting finished, we just need to align, tune, and then TMI will be updating the seats a few other parts. I really don't have time to track sort the car, so that can be fun for the new owner.

It's just left JBA where they TIG welded on a new 306-stainless exhaust system with billet hangers.

Engine:
440-inch RHS-block LS (4.125 bore x 4.125 stroke)
Piston Oil Squirting System
Lunati Pro forged crank
Lunati forged I-beam rods
Mahle forged, fully coated, pistons
Brodix BR Series CNC LS3 heads
Lunati billet double roller timing set
Comp custom grind cam - 235/254 610/596 lift on a 113 LSA
Bushed CHE rockers
FAST intake with billet drive by wire throttle body
FAST fuel rail and 50-lb injectors
Fully trap-door baffled Holley Oil pan
Stainless Holley BlackHeart prototype long tube headers
TIG welded stainless JBA exhaust
640 hp and 595 ft-lbs on the Westech engine dyno

Cooling:
Autorad XL Radiator system with fabricated aluminum core support

Trans:
Tremec Magnum six-speed
SPEC twin-disc clutch - Not sure I love this clutch yet, if you don't like it can get you a GM LS7 clutch.
Aluminum 3.5-inch driveshaft
Currie third member with Detroit TrueTrac posi and 3.70 gears

Brakes:
Wilwood six-piston with 14-inch rotors front and 13-rear

Interior
Prototype by TMI with bolstered rear seat and one-piece headliner.
Gauges - STACK cluster
Vintage Air System
New wiring by American Autowire
IdidIt lightweight column
Quick release hub
Momo leather steering wheel
Trunk kit from TMI
Optima Battery trunk mounted

Body:
Axalta two-stage paint
Carbon fiber hood, rear spoiler, front valance, rear valance
Widebody rear quarters
All OE trim that's been restored and polished
Widened rear bumper to fit new quarters
New grill, new trim
Billet door handles (chrome plated) and billet tail lights with LEDs

Misc:
Holley Stealth fuel tank
Billet Holley fuel filters
Stainless brake lines
All new glass including doors. All new door and window internals. All new weatherstrip. Heck, it's all new.

Wheels:
18-inch FORGELINE three-piece wheels with custom one-off Track Rat center caps
New Falken RT-615k tires - 315mm rear and front (but I will most likely move to the 275 front since I don't like the loss of turning radius)

Best walk around video I have online:

Here's the first time we drove it.. sounded great!

Again, it's a really cool car.. I just don't have the time to mess with it and finish my other projects. All new and top-shelf parts. Let me know if you want more or specific photos.

STORIES:

There were a ton of stories online, but our site recently had a problem so many of them now have no, or less, images, which is a shame, but I hope they will fix soon. Below are a few of the dozens of stories on the car.

The Suspension is from Chris Alston Chassisworks.. it's a full new rack/pinion front sub with their new billet spindles. Rear is their 4-link with a 9-inch housing. Brakes are new larger Wilwood pieces.

Video of the car with the new TIG welded 306 stainless exhaust system.. Idles pretty good considering it still needs a tune and is running on the GM ECU.

Wow...Hate to see you selling it, but someone's going to get a great car. You know what you're doing when it comes to building these!
