Thanks for all the compliments, guys. It's comments like these that keeps me motivated. The pictures of the rear suspension have been posted in the Members Rides section (the last thumbnail). They show the build from one of the frame rails to the mock up required for tire fitment. Thanks for asking Devin.
What a great engine!!! I love the LT-5 engine; I've read quite a bit about it. . .unfortunately I have never had the opportunity to drive one or ride in one, but they are quite an engine none the less!!! What kind of power are you getting out of it. . .are going to do any internal mods to it? Lingenfelter has some nice LT-5 packages (pricy to be sure but very nice) as well as Doug Rippie Motorsports (gotta love those Black Widow engines!!!).
I'd be interested in seeing some more pic's of the interior. . .specifically I'd be interested in seeing pics of the carbon fiber headliner, the oval roll bar (got me to thinking for my own project on that one), the boxed trunk hinges, the all-metal chin spoiler (I want a larger, more aggressive chin spoiler myself to accentuate the influence the vintage TransAm race cars have had on my own project), and some more interior pic's as well (the custom console and dash as you know have already grabbed my attention just from the pictures you already have posted).
Keep us posted Perry. . .and don't forget to post up as many pictures of the completed project as you can!!!
Thanks Joel. Other than the long tube headers I made and a performance chip in the computer, the motor is bone stock so I put the horsepower in the 425hp range. I do intend to install an NOS system however.
I'll get some more pics posted soon, especially of the interior. The dash is going in for leather upholstery this week. Just received all the gages from Autometer so it's time to build the cluster. The oval rollbar is getting painted so now I can get it welded in. PM me about the carbon fiber headliner, I might make you a deal on a spare one I have if your interested. More later.
bigtyme1: The vision mirrors have not been installed yet but I don't see a problem. I think they are a great piece. I perfomed a little surgery on the insides and added a power unit to each one from an import (I know, I know). When I order them I convinced them to add the turn signal option that they use on their other mirror. They should work out nicely.
Bowtieracing: As far as the air intake system is concerned, I am really pleased with the way it turned out. I had my doubts many times and my polisher told me to abort more than once. After it was welded and the welds ground down for polishing there would be holes in the weld that weren't there before so they were filled and re-polished about four times before I was satisfied. Thanks for the thumbs up.
