Default 2020 C8 Vette

So, what do y'all think? They say the starting price point will be $60k for a base model.

GM has lost me on styling. I can't believe I'm saying it, but I'd buy a Ford before a Chevy these days.

I'm along the same lines as Todd. I'm not really digging GM's direction. The new trucks are hideous. Whoever approved the design on the 2019 Camaro should be fired. I'm not kidding. I don't see how you could look at that car and say it's worth building. I'm not sure how I feel about the vette. Some angles and pictures look good. Others, not so much. I think I'll reserve judgement until I see one in person.

0 to 60 in three seconds for $60k. What’s not to like?

I love the car. Already told the wife I’m gonna go after either the Z06 or the ZR1 model. I’ve owned a couple vettes previously and I love the car. This ME is just about perfect, (don’t LOVE the rear, but maybe it will get updated before I get one) and I’m sure the changes GM makes along the way in the next 5 years or so will only make it better. 0-60 under 3 seconds for the base car, means an extremely quick Z car. Maybe 2.3-2.4 seconds. That’s quick. Priced under $60k for the base model as well means these cars will likely be the fastest selling Corvettes in history. Color choices are more than ever and interior colors as well. I’m excited. Been waiting for this car a long time.
The new Silverados look good to me as well when modded with lift kits and tires/wheels. They are bland from the factory.

They actually said the base price was under 60K. Personally, I think it's better looking than a Ferrari and way overdue. And yes I know what a Ferrari looks like. I rode in this 488 this past weekend on track at 153mph.

Looks like you have to order the Z51 option to get the performance exhaust (extra 5 hp), performance brakes, eLSD, and performance rear gear ratio. I haven't seen the price on that option, but I'll bet it's not cheap. I doubt the base-base car (without the Z51 performance gear ratio) is a 3-second zero-to-sixty car. The performance ratio is probably pretty low, contributing to the quick time. I also wonder about the 245 front tires on a car that weighs over 3300 lbs dry in its most basic configuration, and probably realistically 3600# on track. Maybe the suspension and aero pieces are that good???? Time will tell.

Well - what size does a F430 run? It's probably a 40/60 weight distribution so you can't think about tire sizes in the same way as a 50/50 car.
911's have fairly small front tires too.

OK I very much agree that GM has lost it's mind with design, however the C8 in my mind turned it all around. I LOVE the C8. I even like the back.

As for 0-60 being slower for base, i'm not sure if gear ratios change (be surprised if anything in the trans but maybe the final drive) however the base has All Seasons which i'm sure is the limiting factor.

I'm looking at picking up a 2LT / Z51 for a fun car to drive regularly.

Performance exhaust is available separately from what i've seen, just included as standard on the Z51.
