Here is what I got for $1,000 in 2001...

I'd say 2k to 2,500 would be a good price

black standard buckets, no headrests, butternut yellow, tinted windshield, center console, deluxe belts...looks like a standard car... no 4 spot

vin will tell you if it was a v8 or l6
i'd go 2k if its rust free.

look in the cowl and the underside of the trunk window corners and rockers.

IIRC, the rear sub frames tend to rust on these as well. Plus even though it might be in a barn in the country, it could have spent most of it's life in the cities.

I've asked about cars just sitting around and all too often they think they're sitting on a pot of gold so I wouldn't be surprised if it took some talking to get your hands on it. But who knows they might just want to get rid of it.

Thanks guys! Glad to hear my thoughts are inline with what you guys are thinking.

Class67 - Thanks for posting your 2001 pickup, it is great to see a comparison....any updated pics, I assume you are finished with it now?

Vince - The motor that it is in it now is a 350, and not the original, and thanks for the hints on where to look, I will definately check those areas out

Scorpner - I will check the rear subframe as well. I did talk to the owner, and he said that a couple people have looked at it, but no one has made him an offer, so I made him an offer of $1K, stating all of the things that I would have to do and the cost associated with them all.

I will be headed there again in early august, and hopefully he will take the $1K cash I will be waving in front of his face

If anyone else has an opinion or helpful hints, please post them

Thanks to all!
