As a stock 2018 Raptor owner, beyond the garret intercooler, what other upgrades are you making to achieve the great power and MPG goals? Maybe it's time to spend more time on the fordraptorforum as I average 15mpg and no where close to that power...

thanks.

900 mi per fuel fill
Would love to see 100 mph in 1/8 but don’t think enough power for that!

As in photo I added a 16:1 Redhead steering box.
I wanted to keep the Twin I Beam suspension so can only go so low
On ride height. No way was I going CRown Vic stuff.
No $$ for full chassis from RS.

I'll admit, this picture gave me the Heebie Geebies...

Heck of a project you've taken on there. Can't wait to watch you hit your goals with it.

Have you seen the 2 F100s now racing with us out at AMP?

One is an old style CV swap and the other is a new style CV swap.

thanks.
Performance wise it should be 2200 lb less than typical Raptor. That should also help MPG somewhat too. MPG wise it will need to be on 91 Octane numbers drop fair amount on E50.

Big difference for HP numbers (at least noticeable) Is my tire wheel package is under 50 lb per corner while Raptor wheel/tire typical is over 100 lb.

Will not know until I try though as think the 9" Ford axle uses more hp than the 9 3/4" Raptor version.

Huge disappointment if it does not make at least 500 RWHP on 91.

Only mods from stock are minimal each. More of a direct Ram Air for airbox, Big change in exhaust that is very similar to the 2021 Raptor. Garrett says only around 13 hp gain from cooler although here it may be more in hot summer but again I have no clue about airflow through engine bay.

I have seen other trucks make 575 at tire so figured a 25 gain with just the 1/2 weight tire wheel combo. Gearing may make a diff too. I can also run in 7th gear which is 1-1. My tire height is only 27" and am running 3.50 rear gearing.

If I look at what my other eco swap truck did it ran 13.0 @ 105 with base engine and tune only it made 420 RWHP and track weight was 4750 lb that truck I had to leave at idle or it would just spin. Much better and larger tires on this one. Adding 150hp and taking away 800+ lbs of weight should get me to 11.50's. If It will make 600 RWHP and I can get it to hook and leave on boost it may net me a 10 second quarter mile. Not sure how the engine will hold up to that HP level (Pistons/Rods) All I want is a long distance cruiser that has acceptable performance, MPG and long distance cruising. Truck looks decent and is reliable.

So goals are from past experience with ecoswap. I think just the tire size alone will be huge for MPG, weight and other factors should be huge too.

Is your Raptor around 40 mph per 1000 RPM? Mine should be 36 mph per 1000 RPM.

65 mph cruise should be around 1800 rpm

Taller final gearing, bunch more weight, huge tires combo and a much much larger truck. Will soon find out I guess! What ever it is will not be the 6 mpg I was getting with the BBF.

For distance I will have 46 gallons of fuel capacity and at only 20 mpg its 920 miles cruise per fill.

Cool on the F100's! I hope to be out there too!
I have owned at least 6 Crown Vic/Grand Marquis and they were more mushy suspensions although anything can be made to work. I think they are kinda cool but not something I would consider on one of my own trucks although did install a narrow version in a friends truck with coil overs etc.

I might be surprised to find a CV equipped truck running away from my Twin I Beam setup. But the Twin I Beam was engineered in the early 60's and is still in use by ford today on some applications. (I Beam less known for handling than the CV setup)

Would be exciting to test it at AMP. My current setup/combo has never been done before so who knows what will happen. Although I want to do some track days the truck is being built for Long Distance Cruising. I think better suited for long tracks.

Are there any videos of the runs at AMP? I will be hiding under a rock until my truck is on road. Maybe after too if grandpa's CV passes me . .

Found this online. If this is any indication if my truck will hook up it is possible to run 10's in quarter mile. Typical weight for a Raptor tire wheel is 100 lb per corner. Mine are under 50 lb per corner. 100 Less lb of rotating mass should make noticeable difference not to mention the Tire diameter. Excited but only bench racing guesstimates at this point. The 2200 lb weight difference should be huge also.

Took my stock 1966 F100 Custom Cab Bezel and blended it with the 2018-20 F150 cluster. A few features I wanted not avail on Dakota Digital etc.
