Default New Update to Project Quicksilver.

Here is a link to some pics on my web site with of the new doors and fenders I have just started to fit. This is the initial fitting of the panels, and still need some serious tweaking.

The drivers side is the closest of the two. The passenger side door needs to slide back about 1/8", and then I probably need to add some metal to the edge to get it closer to the gap size I want.

you will need to make sure the core support is center before you weld any thing.

That is a good suggestion, but the core support is not exactly square, so what points do I use to measure it up? I was more concerned with getting the fenders squared based on several points I have yet to identify. And I wasn't going to do that until I had the upper and lower valance installed.

The area that I would pay the most attention to is the fender gaps. The square ness of the hood opening, alignment of the hood latch, and how well the grill fits. Then work the rest of the parts to fit after you get these things taken care of.

I usually leave the core support lose until I get everything else where I want it. The core support has more adjustment at the body mounts than any of the other front end pieces.

That makes more sense to me than squaring the core support, and was actually how I planned to do it. And since I have an after market hood mechanism (reverse power hood kit from e-life.com) I really need to get everything on and squared before I start filling gaps with weld.

LOOKS GOOD CLINT .

Keep in mind that when you put in a grille and finish the car , the backside of that rad support you are going to see it right throught the grille being silver. i would paint the backside black so when you get a front shot you wont see the silver jumping out through the grille.

I have thought of that, and it shouldn't be that big of a deal with the grill being of a similar color. If the grill was black, then yes it would a big contrast.
