Default $5k Concave wheels anyone

Hey guys, just putting out some feelers

2 of us here in Canada in the market for a set of concave wheels, and as much as we'd love a set of Forgelines or HRE's the $6500US landed Canadian cost would be $10,170 ... insane

So, that puts both our budgets at $5k US, any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks
Steve

Drive your car across the border with an old crap set. Ditch them for a new set and drive home.

Canada used to be my territory when I was the distributor for Brown Jordan and Grosfillex and Ducane Gas Grills etc. I was making a sales call on my Vancouver customer and of course - had to stop at the border (this is like 1973 or 74). I had maybe 25 catalogs and a cheap parasol in the trunk - which I stated when asked if I had anything. I said that I had this stuff and that they were of "no commercial value". I was then asked to pull over and go inside. The officer there wanted about 3 pages of forms filled out - and $108 for duty and taxes. To which I said... "listen... I'm not leaving any of this in Canada...I'm happy to stop on my way out and show you personally these same goods. I'm simply making a sales call. I'll stay overnight in an expensive hotel room - I'll eat dinner and breakfast. OR - I can turn around now - get a room on the US side to store this stuff - which means I'll come back and stay there tonight and eat dinner there as well. The point is that Canada will then get NOTHING. Your call"

I stayed in Blaine (USA) that night. How stupid is that?

Default Taxes

I hear you Graig, its insane the crap we have to go through.
But in actuality its not the taxes that are killing us right now, it's the US$ exchange rate ... its about 35% ... $1US costs us about $1.35 canadian, 2 weeks ago it was like 40% ! and THEN we get taxed at the border on the after dollar exchange rate !! so thats like almost 50% more than the original US price on the product

Cheers
Steve

It seems every time I tried to ride one of the custom Harley's into Canada the damn thing would break down! I'd find a nice garage to park it in, pull the dealer plate and get a ride back to my truck, luckily it was parked in Blaine.
I'm pretty sure someone else went up to retrieve the busted bikes....but that wasn't my department.

Good luck with the wheel search.

Steve ....I had to put a "pause" on custom one off carbon fiber fenders for the blue devil chevelle just for this same reason , thankfully my guy was super understanding. Hopefully it comes back to a dollar amount that helps us ...lol like above the value of the US dollar is OK again

Greg I think he's referring to the dollar exchange right now is killing us Canadians.

To the original poster, I bought some 3 piece forged concave wheels from Rennen for my WK2 Jeep SRT8 and the were priced pretty fairly. Call Rennen forged Direct.
