It uses ls3 block without longer sleeves and greater then 4 in stroke.. thats a piston rocking cylinder and piston skirt wearing combo..

Appreciate the info. I had planned to revisit my under square, square and oversquare research as well. Do you think they resolved the valve issues on the recent crate engines that some production LS7 issues had? Or was that mostly an “interwebz” issue?

I recommend taking a gander over at LS1TECH .. Much info there.. If I were to be buying a motor right now in the budget range your haunting in .. 10 to 12 K I would be looking LSA>.

Less than 2 years GM announced it has discontinued LS7 dry sump and LS7/570 wet sump.

It’s true. No more LS7 in any configuration. The 427 is gone for good according to GM.

I may have an allocation for one if anyone is interested.

Dealers still have them on order, and they are supposed to be fulfilled, for orders placed up until mid Jan 2022.
So there will still be some floating around.. But no new orders.
