Default 69 Camaro steering column

Just curious if someone can help. My ignition barrel won’t return to lock so only goes back as far as accessories at the moment.

I’ve got the wheel & boss kit off to fix an issue with the horn. Do I need to remove anything else to get the barrel out to see what the problem is?

That’s how it’s sitting now. Just seen a video saying I need to press that plate down if I need to remove it. Not a huge deal but just want to check before I pull it all apart for nothing.

Cheers

Ended up getting the plate out just by pressing down on it & had my mrs use a couple of picks to get the snap ring off.

Now just stuck trying to get the barrel out
