Default awesome

I love those asphalt mods. I have been thinking of moving to one soon.
How much are some of the costs; used car, engines, tire budget, and so on?

Sorry there I guess I haven't checked my post for awhile.

The cost depends on where you run and how well you want to do , for the nascar mod. Engine -$35,000-$45,000 new and anywhere from $15,00-25,000 for a used one it really depends on if you're out to have fun or win , like most racing LOL , used car you can get for $10,000 -$25,000 , tires for the year are around $25,000-$30,000.

Over all if you want to be competitive with out the cost of equipment you'll spend $125,000 (very low budget) to $250,000 .

You also need a complete crew for the Nascar tour , its very expensive and a good reason I'm not doing at the moment , There are some tracks running weekly up in the east and New York area there is also a much cheaper division running smaller tracks in the East.

They are alot of fun to drive , I'm looking into getting back going again its just hard to find the right deal for not too much $$ , I did most of my racing running my own teams and just can't do it that way anymore (just too much work )
Good luck with your adventures let me know if you need any more info.

RACEMAN-I'm a huge Modified Tour fan. I follow the Tour as much as I can and my BIL spots for Renee Dupius. I see the Mods as an art form,I can't get enough of those cars! Every year I tell myself I'll go to Ken Bouchard's driving school at Thompson but I usually find something else to do with the $$$. The Tour opens at Thompson on April 5th-I'll be there!!

Hey Cheapta

The Tour is fun to watch !! Renee has done very well , she has come a long way from when I raced with her !! Ken's school would be a good time for you , I've had people tell me they are going back for more after their first time.
It's going on 6 years since I last raced and its quite a change in my life (having done it for 19 years) but I have 3 kids and this summer I should have my first frame off restoration done and I'm looking forward to spending some time in it.
Have fun at Thompson !!!

Well I haven't gotten either my 70 Le Mans or my 69 Camaro done but I did put together a race car this summer only raced it 3 times and maybe now I can go back to work on my le Mans for the winter.
Here's a couple of pics , it's called a Pro-4 modified and has a 2300 ford 4 cylinder with about 250-280 hp and weighs 1900lbs . They're fun to drive and go around 125-130 mph top speed on a half mile track.
