Default Past Fun

Well since there hasn't been much going on with the truck, I thought I would post some pics of what I did for fun in the past. Everyone likes pictures!

Enjoy.

Awesome pics, Chad. Did you do any racing on dirt, or strictly asphalt?

Scott,

Thanks. Only asphalt. I always wanted to try the Dirt, but I haven't had that opportunity YET! I will be doing a different type of racing this year. My knuckle head buddies talked me into getting a dune buggy. So, I guess I will be doing some off-road racing several times this year. I'll get some pictures of the buggy soon. It should be fun. I really miss the racing!

Moose,

You are correct. It is a dieing sport on the east coast. Where are you located? This is the place we will be. http://www.smithtonhole.com/. My buddies have done this for years. 25 years ago it was fairly popular in the tri-state area here. Then as it tailed off, they went to Michigan, Wisconsin, etc. to run the CORR, SODA, etc. series. Then about 10 years ago they quite due to life circumstances. Most kept their cars. About 3 years ago, they had some conversation by chance with the promoter of Smithton Raceway 70. (Formerly Smithton Hole) They got some races scheduled and slowly some cars started showing up. This year will be tough, but we'll see. I'll try to post some pics. when I get them.

Later,

I just realized, I didn't upload pictures of the buggy. I had a good time with it this year. But, I just don't have time for it. Now that the truck is back underway, that is priority. So, it's for sale. I'll play a bit next summer if it does not sell. Enjoy!

It is an absolute blast, but I don't have time right now. I need to get this truck done for my Dad. Plus, the disease started to show again! I said this was going to be cheap fun. Yeah! As soon as I didn't win or finish for that matter the first race, I was already planning the upgrades. That's when the for sale sign went on it! LOL

I know Mark. I just talked to him a couple weeks ago at Motordrome. He is the 2009 Late Model Champion. It was good to see him do well this year. He has struggled for quite a few. I saw the Mod. in your thread. Very cool. It looks like a blast.

I need to be done with racing until this truck is done, but it is always in the blood!
