Default Fox Body build

I've had this build going for quite a while so I won't bore everyone with every picture I've taken over the last 4 years .

I'm building this car for a fun street cruiser/autocross car. As of now, this is the parts list.

- 331 shortblock w/ AFR 195 heads (58cc ~ 10.5:1 CR)
- D&D Performance TKO 600
- 31 spline rear with 3.73 gears
- Ridetech Level 2 coilover package, UPR tubular K member, Stiffler's FIT system, bigger sway bars
- Baer T4/SS4 brakes; 13" rotors in front, 12" in the rear, Baer Remaster
- Wolfe Racecraft 6 point roll bar
- Corbeau FX1 seats, Ridetech harnesses
- Dakota Digital VHX instrument cluster

and some other random parts.

Right before tear down, just for a reference back!

Getting rid of the terrible wiring in the car and cleaning up the engine bay.

and it begins

Nice car! I've always thought these looked mean.

What's the deal with all those tubes connecting what I assume are subframe connectors and the rockers? I've heard these cars aren't very stiff... is that all custom or from a kit?

thanks for sharing!

Thanks Dave!

That piece your seeing is the Stiffler's FIT (fully integrated technology) system. It's a combination of a couple pieces. There are subframe connectors, pinch weld supports, and the web bracing helps tie it all together. The combination of these parts and the cage really tighten the weak parts of this car up. After the first couple hundred miles that I've put on it, I'm pretty amazed with how tight the car is but more happy with the way that it rides. It's basically like driving a go-kart that rides nice!

Thanks! I need to post up some of the actual build progress pictures. There are a ton of things I left out but it would've been a couple hundred pictures to upload!

Josh,
I gotta HUGE soft spot for the fox body ponies. Owned 4 in my day, 2 '86 GT's, an '88 and '91. It's where and when the bug hit hard! My daughter and I will be restoring one once she's finished with University. She's holding me to it!

Keep the quality work coming bud!

Haha, this is my second fox. I've had a couple SN95 cars but this one is by far my favorite. How long til you get to start playing with another fox??

Long enough for you to work out the hard decisions and make my build a smoother go, if that exists. Truly though, my Chevelle is about 2-3 years out, which is about the time she'd be finishing high school. The project will keep her and I busy in the summer months through University so that by graduation she may drive me to her party! At least that's the plan...

I understand that. This one was a side project for a while before I sold my Mach 1. After it was gone, it went alot quicker on this one. I've spent the last year doing the main things on it now. It definitely takes time (mostly money though.....).
