Default Power steering question

Car is down for repairs until funds arrive but I need to keep the engine running in the meantime. I have power steering but the rack and pinion has been removed. The 2 hoses from the ps pump are just hanging down. If I plug these hoses, top off the fluid and run the car at idle till it's warmed up, would I damage my pump? Thanks.

Yeah, don't do that. I would rig up something to connect the pressure hose to the return hose so it just loops.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Low pressure and high pressure have nowhere to go. Guess I’ll just slap my rack back in and reconnect the hoses.
