Default First Gen: Door stuck shut problem

How many of you guys have had problems with a stuck door during the assembly part?

I have new latches, new strikers, new exterior handles, new lock barrels, nice tight hinges, new rubbers installed.

LH Door works like a treat, and closes firmly. (did originally have problems here with door buinding shut, until i replaced worn striker and door latch mech)

I have spent countless hours playing with the RH door, but it will close, and get stuck closed. I can release the latch by putting a small flatblade screwdriver into the latch and overriding the latch.... Latches have been lubed up with white lithium grease, and work fine out of the car.

This is so frustrating, i just want to get it back together and get the interior finished off.

I've read through a lot of posts on camaros.net and there seems to be heaps of guys have encountered the problem there... most with worn door mechs though....

check the latch , make sure it opens without help - spring in latch could be broken....dont like the overseas latch, doesn't fit the door properly where it mounts.

This happened to me once when I had the striker misaligned. Moving it cured the problem.

Will try moving the striker out a little and see if that fixes it... I bought OER latches and not the real cheap and nasty ones.

These little things can be so frustrating and really hold progress up on reassembly.
