HOLY SH*T THIS HURT! I just pulled this smooth move 30 min ago out in my shop. I had one last project to wrap up my wife's Camaro for a show tomorrow. I was using a battery drill to drive a screw in, the drill slipped and the phillips bit went through my nail and tore it off. I didn't realize at first that the nail was gone since it was so bloody. I just thought I smashed th crap out of it. I found my nail on my drill stuck to the bit.

Beth wanted me to go to the hospital. So I googled it! Which said to go to the hospital. I called the hospital and they said there was nothing they could do. They just suggested keeping it clean, covered and watch for infection. They said it should grow back.

This post took like 20 min since I'm typing with one hand.

Hopefully these "big boy" band-aids I got him will help!

Hmmmm that may help with the pain, but let's face it I'm already short a few brain cells.

I had that happen to me as well. Not as severe as that though. I dropped 10 lbs. on my thumbnail after working out one time and I immediately almost starting crying! The pain was so bad. I eventually lost that nail and it grew back. Yours looks like it hurt much more.

At the time when this thread was alive I didn't have a scar. But, I remembered it and now I do. I had knee and hernia surgery. The knee scope was only 3 little incisions, but here's my belly button scar and it's new look or reconstruction so to speak. It's small compared to some of y'alls, but it sure hurts like hell.

Yeah, that doesn't look like fun.
At least they didn't have to cut you open. Get well soon.
