Default Australian Autocross- ApocaLaps

Just thought I'd go out to the crowd thats been doing this for a long time and ask for some do's and don't of running an autocross event.

Autocross events for our cars are kinda non -existent in Australia, but over the last 4 years we've put on 5 events in Perth, with a dedicated core group of people.

We've put a few lessons learnt together and would like some feedback from the group here.

We know that:
  • The course should be flowing and not too tight.
  • Cones have to be clear and track marked wherever possible.
  • Timing gear has to be reliable and consistent.

What else is essential to a good course and day out?

Although I can't give you any advice on the questions you asked, I want to say good work! I follow AWOL and others on instagram and for an Aussie living in the states I can tell you its great to see it starting to take a following back home.

Thanks for following Jim.

There are a helluva lot of modified/ protouring cars down here and an autocross event for full size cars is really lacking. Just hope we can fill that gap and get our cars out for a bit of a run.

Need to put some pressure on Greg H. to get his weapon on the track can anyone assist?

For those that are interested, a short video link from our first event of the year. A bit wet to say the least.

We have another session on this weekend and hope to get some more pics and video as there will be some more Aussie muscle coming out this time.
