I have a 70 rs camaro with a lsa / 6L90e combo and I have just been out with the transmission to do some work to it after a had some noise from it I didn't like. Is it so that these transmissions need to be re flashed when the have been from the engine and had som work done to it ?

HP Tuners Pro and a good tuner should get the TCM acting nice. I'm new here, so don't want to open my mouth about tuners, just use one that is highly regarded because the trans is harder to get right than the engine.

If you didn't change any of the hardware (to be different from stock or whatever the last program change was), the situation is no different than unplugging your home computer. The machine does not forget basic operating parameters (program) when it is away from electricity for a bit. Just reconnect and boogie.
