Default 2.5" hole saw recommendation

I need to cut 4 holes in my dash for A/C vents. I'd like recommendations for a quality hole saw (brand / tip coating) that will hold up and create 4 clean holes in 1/8" steel.

Thanks!

The absolute best are Holcutters by Blair Equipment:

These look great and I searched all over the west coast for this size. Unfortunately, none of the local or national distributors had them in stock. Needed to order direct from Michigan. I didn't have the time to wait for them to ship.

FYI, they also are sold under the Hougen brand or

Klein Tools (electrician tools sold via Home Depot) has a similar design.

I was able to find a Lenox Bi-Metal hole saw at Lowe's for under $20 and was impressed with the quality of the holes it cut.

I get mine from Amazon.com. It usually arrives in a couple of days.

We've considered stocking them, since that's the diameter required to install our bulkhead fuel vents.

Like Mr. Parsons ---- I use a true hole cutter -- I use Hougen Rotabroaches/Holecutters --- they're the same thing basically as what PJ posted just a different brand

Use a hole saw - and you'll just have a nasty mess on your hands.

Electrician knockouts or slugbusters are super clean round cuts. A 2 inch conduit knockout is actually 2 3/8. They last forever when not abused. Kevin

I was fortunate that in this instance of using a hole saw in thin sheetmetal, I got clean round holes where my vintage air swivel vents needed to go. I was out of time and couldn't find these great tools locally, however they'll be one of the next tool purchases I make.
