Today we got the frame notch sprayed black and mounted the A/C bracket up for good.

We had to take one frame mount bolt for the notch so I drilled and tapped the frame for another one. I made a 3-1/6" thich washer (plate) to cover both bolt holes to help hold the frame mount istead of two washers with one side on each ground because they are so close together.

Got a little done today, we started to make a top bracket to hold the A/C compressor in the low mount position. We had it together and then the A/C connections for the compressor came in and of course it was going to be tight on one side so apart it came. I bent up another arm and Spacemwn welded it on. I cleanded it up and primed it today and I'll paint it tomorrow.
Here it is in etching primer.

The little notch is to clear a bolt on the compressor.

amazing how such a little thing takes so long to get it right. Thank god we enjoy this stuff!

The last 5% takes 3x the time of the first 95%.

Last night I painted the A/C bracket and today I installed it to see how it looked. Lesson learned, bring you glasses when you need to read a paint can. I picked up two cans of paint. One aluminum and the other metalic satin Nickle. Ah I'll get the aluminum so it will blend in instead of black. Get home spray the bracket, hmm looks pretty good. 3 coats, read the can Nickle ??? But it looks good so maybe somebody was watching over me and helped with the color choice.

Too stinkin hot in there today, 98 with the windows and door open.
