Default Frame Rail Tubing Thickness

Hi guys I'm currently working on the back end of my 67 Mustang and installing DSE mini tubs. I'm planning on replacing the rear rail from the cross member section back since its rusted with 2x3 steel tubing mimicking the DSE frame rail section and moving 2.5" inward and splicing it into the front half of the rail like DSE does. I was wondering if .083 tube will be sufficient? .083 is what the DSE rail section is made out of and the stock rail is .07 ish. Car will see maybe 400 at the wheels max and is not a drag car or anything. I'll be mounting a panhard or Watts Link to this section of rail as well. Picture of the rail I designed is below along with where I'm planning to splice it in using the DSE section for mockup.
