Default '92 Dodge 4WD P/U Trans/TC Question

Althought it's not a project truck (yet, I guess, as they all end up that way at some point!), but ........

My dad gave his '92 Dodge W-150 1/2 ton pickup to me. He's at the point in his life where he can no longer drive, and it's something that he wanted me to have. It's 4WD with approx 74K miles on it, pretty well maintained and virtually stock. 4 speed auto trans.

My question involves the trans and torque converter operation. At speed (60 thru 70 mph), it feels like the torque converter is constantly locking and unlocking, even on relatively level pavement. There should be a module that locks/unlocks the TC. Could that be going bad? Where would I find info on how this trans works?

Thanks

Bill
