Thanks Chris

The vented rear window was a cool piece - a little nod to the F40 (a personal favorite). It was a custom piece we layed out and made by AM Hot Rod Glass.

Brake light is by McLaren (yes, that McLaren ) It's the same one used in the F1 cars.

Seeing Rampage get around the Blackhawk track just gives me goosebumps.

Ferrari/McLaren - Sounds as expensive as it looks

For us mere mortals (if interested) a variety of center flashing rear fog lights come in less expensive flavors.

Default GrassRoots Motorsports Ultimate Track car challenge

I'm really surprised this gigantic pile of awesomness wasn't at the GRM event. Maybe next year?

They should also stage some kind of head to head duel for the Big Red T.V. show...

I couldn't help it I was curious if they would make another rear window, so I called AM Hot Rod Glass, and she does still have the molds and will make more, she said it would cost 12-15, I said, Oh 12-15 hundred that's not too bad, then she said, no that's what a normal windshield would cost, the louvered one that we made them would be 12-15 thousand! They can make it in different colors though. She said it takes a few days and it is not easy to make but it is a nice piece. I agree.

I wont be getting one lol. It is a awesome piece though.

Default carbon

Awesome build...

How did you get your depth to the front splitter and rear diffuser. What was the process to building those after getting the mold ready for lay carbon if you dont mind giving up some of your tricks..

With the foundation of the car coming together we could turn our attention to creating the carbon pieces we needed to give this car the shape and look we wanted.

Figuring out how to do this was a process in itself. With foam being the fastest to build shape and carve, we set about creating the 'jig' to both hold the foam we poured and establish guides and limits for where we could cut and still allow clearance for the suspension articulation. In essence, it had to look as good as it worked.

What is the width and thickness of the metal "fingers" you used?

Is that just tape stretched over the metal fingers or did you put some additional support in that we can't see before you put foam over the tape?

How did you apply and contain the foam? Did you build some sort of containment and then just pour the liquid foam in and wait for it expand, remove the containment, and start shaping?

If you had pictures of the containment before or during the foam application that would be great. . .

Thanks for all the pics!!! GREAT looking car and AWESOME fab work!!!
