Default Oil pan needed for a LS3

I have a friend with a Heidts front subframe in a 69 camaro. It has the Rack and Pinion. The motor is a LS3. The oil pan hits the r&p before it lines up to the motor mounts. He added to the motor mounts but now the driveshaft angle is terrible and you can tell by looking at the motor it is tilted back.

Cant bring the back of the motor up because the header flanges are hitting the floorboard.

Does anyone know the correct oil pan to use? Other option is to modify his pan. The very front 2"or 3" is where it hits.

The pan he has looks to have about a 2-1/2" sump in the front and it needs about a 1/2" sump in the front. Is there a LS oil pan like that?

Look here for some issues with my aftermarket subframe and headers and the Autokraft pan: http://www.pro-touring.com/showthrea...562#post707562

If I did it over again, I'd use as close to a stock pan as I could get.

We have a stock F body pan on it now. The problem is the front sump is 2-3/4". We need to come down another 3/4" and the Autokraft pan is 1-3/4" in the front which will give us the clearance we need. He also has lemons headers with no issues.

What frame and headers do you have???

Some what related. I've got a 67 Nova with a Heidt superide. Power rack with a LS1 motor. I had to move the motor mount up so the pan would clear the rack. And yes it messes with the drive line angle.

I think the Fbody pan is actually thinner than the AutoKraft pan at the area over the rack. The superide rack is in front of the crossmember. I had to use the Autokraft pan due to the Superide rear mounted sway bar.

Long story short last summer I had a LS3/tko600 in the nova. Autokraft pan. The tko required the tunnel to be cut allot. Since I had a nice LS1/4L60E sitting in the shop I pulled the LS3 and put the LS1 in. The 4L60E required very minimal tunnel mods. I dropped the LS1 in with the fbody pan and it cleared the rack only because I raised the mounts for the LS3.

Double check the pan dimension comparing the two. By the way the Autokraft pan is a nice and has worked well.
