Default DirtFish Rally driving school

Rodger Lee and I just completed the 3 day rally driving school at DirtFish...

I can tell you that not only is this a complete hoot! I learned so much about car handling -- in particular -- LOOSE car handling.... it's amazing! These guys are on par with a Bondurant experience. You can know absolutely nothing about driving and they'll have you sliding and drifting at high speeds in three days! They do this in baby steps of course.... and they have a method that works. The instructors are very very good... and fun. With Rodger and I -- they obviously must be able to take a joke.

All in all --- well worth the money and then some! I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I'll let Rodger post up the pics he wants of himself....

What the pics will not/can not show --- is how much speed you have on --- and how much control you have - which to me - was the amazing part!!

James Shipka also took this class.... so he's another good reference for those that know him.

There was no Ross -- but of course - that doesn't mean he's not a part of the operation. We had 4 instructors - actually 5 - and we rotated so that each of them gave you some different things to learn or work on. Nice young kids that could really drive... and they were good instructors.

My pictures look about the same as your just the car number and my head is pushing on the roof of the car.

I have never learned so much about a car in 3 days in my life. They really teach you how to turn momentum into rotation in just a 3 day class. The last day and a half was worth the entire cost of admission. They let you race through the woods on the limiter in 3rd gear if you so inclined. Greg and I did really well in the class. Our only competition was a professional polo player from Argentina. He was pretty fast also.

Our head instructor was Dan Wooten who is some kind of big autocross champ with a Honda Civic.

I think I want a Subaru now..... DANG IT

I have contacts with the local dealership and have intentionally not driven one because I know what would happen. We have so many very "good" forest service roads right behind my house.

Great group pic at the end and Greg's not the toe of the slope for the change but loses the pectoral contest.

Do you have an idea how much modification they perform on their cars?

Not nearly as much as you would think.

I still want the little blonde haired blue eyed girl! She hooted and hollered thru every turn... I really wish my wife enjoyed doing this kind of stuff --- but then again -- she has other qualities! LOL

That looks like great fun. Who was taller Roger or the guy at the end of the photo?
