Default 70-73 Camaro, what's the widest rims/tires I can use?

Hello people,
glad I found Lat-G, the cars here are incredible, the time and workmanship that goes into some of the cars amazes me. It's a place I keep coming to for inspiration and help in keeping me motivated on my car.

I have a 73' R/S Camaro, it's dropped 2" rear and 2" spindles in front.
What are the widest rims/ties that will work without major mods? I don't mind minor rolling/trimming.

I'm looking at 18x8 front and 18x10 rear
or 20x9 rear? And backspacing, exact tire sizes please, I'm hoping you guys can save me a few days of trial and error swapping. =)

Any help, pics, advice is greatly appreciated.

I have a 73 camaro with 18x8 and 18x10s. With a 285-35-18 tire in back no rubbing and I am going to go with a 295-35-18 next but I will roll the lip.

Looks great

18x8 up front with a 4.75" backspace, 245/40/18 tire, and a 18x10 rear with a 5.75" and a 285 would work great! That is what we recommend. We're running a huge sale on our wheels right now too... up to 20% off wheels. Check it out!

Exactly. On 2nd gen cars, The factory 8" wheels are 4.5 backspace, so for the front if you deduct 3.5 from you wheels size you will have your backspace, on the rear deduct 4" from your wheel size as the rear wheels were sucked in a bit from the factory.

So front

8" wheel = 4.5" backspace

8.5" wheel = 5" backspace

Rear

9" wheel = 5" backspace

9.5" wheel = 5.5" backspace
