Default Do I have room?

To the guys at Prodigy or Driverz, or any of the other wheel gurus. The car is a 68 Camaro. It was mini-tubbed and it has a quadra-link in it. DSE recommends and 18x11 with a 315. But since both the 315s are hard to find, and an 18x11 is extremely expensive I am trying to find another option. A 295 just isn't wide enough. It only has an 11 1/2" section width. So my other alternative is a 335. I would like to know if I have room for an 18x12 with 335/30/18's with no rubbing issues. The measurements are in the wheel well at 10, 12, and 2 o'clock respectively. Thanks in advance.

The pictures are a little deceiving. The 10 and 2 o'clock positions are about 14 1/4". the center is about 14 3/4". I hope this will solve my problem...

Ken,

I am doing a 68 Camaro with the same space limitations. I am running a 19x11.5 with a 325- per Frank's recommendation- I don't see a 335 fitting my 325 measures 13" across- that doesn't leave much room- good luck- Chris

We do 335s on 67 / 68s in our shop al the time, look at MotiV8r. But we know how to put the tubs in deep. Yours are installed relaxed. You need 14.5" to 14.75" to clear 335s on 12s. As Chris mentioned, 325s on a 11" rim are a nice fit but there are no 325 / 18s.

Thanks for the responses. Today I was able to trim, roll, and clean the lip up enough so that I think I have enough clearance. I have 14.5 ,15, and 14.75 inches of clearance at 10,12, and 2 o'clock. I think I'm going to do the 18x12 with the 335 and hopefully I have no rubbing. Speaking of which, Frank, can you pm the price on a set of billet specialties Le Mans (pro touring series), 18x 9 and 18x12.
Thanks again. You guys are a huge help.

With that 15" measurement at 12 o'clock you are good to go! A BFH will fix just about anything!!

Frank, care to elaborate on installing the mini-tubs 'deep'? Do you cut in further into the trunk / frame rail than recommended in the DSE instructions? I don't want to go through the effort of the mini-tubs and then not fit 335/345's. Mine is a '68.

All I have to say is...holy **** those 335's look killer though they give me an anxiety attack....knowing how much it's going to cost me to fit a set!!!

In my best Napolean Dynamite...'LUCKY'.
