Why the bizzare choice?

Popular opinion is that Woody Johnson, the owner, told them to trade for Tebow.
Like most losing teams they have a lot of issues. Lack of talent is the biggest analysts agree.
Ryan is extremely loyal to his players and publicly said he would never bench Sanchez. Not a good thing to promise...lol
The offensive coordinator they hired is 'offensive'. The Dolphins 'gain' is the J-E-T-S loss.
Their best,by far, wide receiver is injured. Their line is terrible.
Their GM is a 'cap guy', not a nuts and bolts 'football guy'.
Like many NFL coaches that have success (winning playoff games) word has it Ryan gets a strong say in who is drafted. Well, whoever has been picking them college boys, it has not gone well overall.
They extended Sanchez's contract after an average season last year to a very team unfriendly contract, apparently to appease him after the Tebow trade.
Several theories on why they didn't start Tebow. Word has it he will not be on the Jets roster for the 2013 season. So why play him?
Popular opinion also is that if they played him and the Jets won, the obvious question would be why didn't Ryan make the move while they still had a chance for the playoffs?
So most think it is likely he is just avoiding that scenario.
As you may know, Tebow doesn't usually look good in practice. But even some great qb's didn't practice well, so that is no excuse.
Ryan has kept saying he believed Sanchez gave them a better chance to win.
Reporters brought up the point that the Tebow led Broncos beat them 2x last year. To that he replied that he doesn't look in his rear view mirror.
That though IMO contradicts Ryan being loyal to his players because of what they've done in the past. Like Sanchez.
Like the fictional NYC visitors bureau rep said to George Costanza when he was pretending to 'move' to the Big Apple..."It'll eat you alive!"
Right now it seems that a wolf isn't at Rex's door...but more like a pack of wolves has him surrounded.
