Default 1971 Turbo Dart - Project "Deceiver"

I didn't think this was worthy of the space on Lateral-G being that it probably won't be to the caliber of most of the rides here.
But Scott seemed to think otherwise, so here it is.

Finally decided to tackle my first turbo build.
Actually its my first build of any car.
I sold my 1998 Z28 Camaro and went old school like I should have done in the first place.

This car will be a street car with light strip duty.
I'm going to push this 318 till it pops and then put a purpose built 360 in.
My end goal is ~550hp/600tq in this little dart. Should make for an insane ride.

This is what the build consists of right now.

Stock 318 motor
904 torqueflight
8 3/4 rear 2.73 gears open diff.
Master Power T70 .68 AR Turbo
Edelbrock headers flipped
Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump
Aeromotive 13202 regulator
Summit fuel filter

Still need to purchase the rest of the items needed to make this work.

Looking at getting a JGS 40MM wastegate and 50mm Tial BOV.
Spectre carb hat and a 650 blow through carb.
Innovate Wideband and boost gauge.

Going to run locked timing for now with the plans of installing a 6al and btm some day.

How it looked a few weeks ago when I first got it.

Vinyl top and glue removed. The top will be getting painted black before spring.

Battery relocated.

Now you see it.

Now you don't.

LOTS of work and learning to do.

I'm going to wait on body work for now and get the car smoking tires first.
That way all the cutting and massaging is done on an unfinished body.
Hopefully next winter I will be able to possibly do the mini tub and frame off restoration with the help of a friend who runs a shop called Gordy's Custom Rods.

Any Advice and help is welcome!

Kill switch installed.

Was looking for a good place to put a tach. Ended up ripping the cluster out and deciding on doing a custom one.

Starting to make the template for a gauge backing plate. Ran out of time today so all I got done was the initial measurement.

Should have plenty space for gauges.

I think I will be using the AutoMeter Pro Comp series gauges.

Hopefully it will be on the road this spring so I can give you a ride in it.

On the stock motor i'm going to see if it will handle 8-10psi.
Might find an intercooler for it.
Will have to see how the funds look once i get to the cold side routing.

Well I got my Aeromotive stuff today.
The pump is a wee bit larger then I expected.

Here are the headers that will be massaging to fit.
