Default C6 pedal 25835421 modifications

I just got my 10+ year project finished...almost. I have an LS3 that requires ACdelco 25835421 (2006-2012 corvette) pedal. Right now I have a Lokar pedal that feels terrible. The pedal is too soft and touchy, and I am not happy with it, and Lokar is telling me it cannot be stiffened any.

The ACdelco pedal arm needs to be shorter, and the bracket modified to fit the car.

Question: Can I safely take apart the ACdelco pedal, modify what I need for the arm and bracket, then re-assemble without any problems with the sensor?
Any tips?

I believe this bracket has built in stops where the pivot action is. The actual length of arm are not related to the sensor. The bracket is just a simple multi bolt flange that can be modified. DSE sells a bolt in bracket for gen 1 Camaros that can be modified to fit your application.

I have cut and welded the pedal arms before.

Fun Fact: 69 Corvette throttle pedal trim snaps right on to that pedal like stock.

Yes it should be easy to modify. I just did not know if it was safe to take the sensor out to do the modifications and then have the assembly powder coated. Here are a couple of pics from a few years ago showing the way I mounted the Lokar pedal. The car is 99% finished now so all of that surface rust is gone!

The corvette pedal is longer than the Lokar so I will have to make the pedal fit the existing mount that I put in the car.

Have you looked at using the 2007 Monte Carlo pedal? GM part #15831256. I used it instead of the vette pedal that came in my GMPP harness.

No I have not. Howell gave me the corvette part number. Is this pedal compatible?
