Default winch for trailer

Never thought I would want a winch for my trailer but I have been pushing my car in and out of the trailer for months now. I just had it painted and once you get it half way in there is hardly any room between car and trailer.
I definitely want wireless remote, not sure about winch rating or brand. Car is 68 Camaro with LS motor and Tremec magnum. I am guessing about 3400 lbs when completed. Anyone suggestions will be appreciated!

I use a WARN brand winch and love it.
I don't know rating, or model, but if you end up needing info, I'll start digging for it.
I called WARN and they made recommendation on model.
It uses a cable control, not remote.
I feel your pain. I used to drive my car into trailer.., winching is better.
I also own a 68 Camaro and it has a heavy 572 BBC in front.
Let me know what else you need!
Jim

Im with these guys. Ive had the 12k winch from Harbor Freight for maybe 8 years now or so. Never had an issue. Ive even used it to pull a project truck that had sunk into the dirt out of a field and onto the trailer before.

I researched the Harbor Freight 12,000 lb Badlands winch. The remote cable is only 12' long, my trailer is a gooseneck with a 24' floor. I found a remote control unit on Ebay for the Badlands winch that is made by Badlands, pretty cool. This is the link

Thanks for all the positive input!!

I use the 5k lb winch from HF with their wireless remote. Seems fine so far. It's "rolling weight" so 5k surely is plenty. I think it is considered an ATV winch.

A Warn with synthetic rope would be nice if budget doesn't matter haha.

I had a small ATV wench in my 24' trailer to start with because it was a 3k wench and my car shell weighed less than 700lbs so I though it was ok. The wench worked great, but I had the 3/16" cable snap in my face. Luckily for me it broke right where I was so it whipped away from me. I bought this wench the same day.

Yes it's more expensive that the HF one, and less capacity, but it comes with a wireless remote and synthetic cable. Both of which were a must have for me and replacing the cable and adding the remote would have put me at the same price. Its been flawless since I got it in 2017.

What are the pros and cons of a synthetic cable versus steel?
I am curious.

Steel cable vs. synthetic. They start snapping the synthetic around the 16 min mark.
