Default 5.3L into a 69

ok guys im taking the plunge.

my built 355 just isnt cutting it with the gas mileage.

I have a 5.3L and a 700r4 out of my 2002 silverado and im ready to do the swap. i just want to make sure i know what im gettin into and have done a little bit of research. hopefully you guys can help me with anything ive overlooked or forgotten!

heres what i think i need!:
5.3L, non electronic trans and converter
im going carbed so edelbrock carb conversion with msd and 750 speed demon carb
swap headers for 1st gen
motor mound adaptors
oil pan and pickup
im not running ac, so what acc bracketry will work?
my pedal is already setup for a cable
im guessin i will just use some flexible hoses for the radiator?
im sure i will have to find some adapters for my guages.
i have a shift gate for my 700r4

some questions:
bracketry and pulley setup?
driveshaft?
camshaft selection?
any other upgrades that need to be done to the 5.3L?
WHAT ELSE AM I FORGETTING?

i need to get this swap done and i think ive just researched my self to the point of confusion. if anyone can help out id really appreciate it.. i cant afford to have my car down for too long and just want a solid plan before i tackle it..

THANKS in advance,
brantley

Here is how i ran F-body accessories on my 5.3

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2163805/6

- The AC has its own seperate belt and pully so if you want to delete AC your main accy drive is still intact with no changes needed.

For your rad hoses. The lower one is just a flexible hose... the upper is made for a mid 90's jeep cherokee if i remember correctly... LS1 tech > hybrids and conversions section will help a ton

I havent had to deal with a driveshaft or cam selection yet... if you go to LS1tech there is a tab at the top for performance trucks and they have a thread detailing cam selection and what kind of mods you can expect to need to make the cam work for you.

I'm doing the same conversion. There are some guys running the thunder racing TR220 cam and comp 918 springs and they are making around 330 rwhp. I'm still deciding whether or not to run a turbo on mine, but if not I'll run that cam with the swap headers as well.

I'm definitely going the EFI route with this, but can understand why you would consider a carb setup. I just can't stand carbs anymore and I want the best mpg and reliability I can get.

I've read a lot about the oil pans, basically you can either notch an f-body pan or buy an aftermarket (moroso, autokraft, etc). With the moroso you have to run a remote oil filter setup. Not cheap unfortunately when it's all said and done. The pan setup will cost nearly as much as I paid for the complete motor. Some guys have tried running the LH8 truck pan, but if your car is lowered like mine it hangs down too low.
