What material/wall thickness are you using for the cage?

Just a quick shopping trip on the internet and I came up with 1 5/8th diameter tubing with a wall thickness of .134 In other words - just a bit more than 1/8th" wall (.125). That's a KIT from Competition Engineering.

Your welder is capable of doing 1/4" (.250)

It will do it. I have one and have done 3/16" with single passes no problem. As Greg mentioned, it's rated for 1/4". I haven't done anything that thick yet. Just make sure you're capable of welding the cage in correctly. That's the important part. Good luck!
