Default TKO 600 5th gear problem

I have a tko 600 in my 67 camaro. I have put about 2500 miles on it without any problems. Yesterday, I got into the car and could not put it inot 5th gear while driving or in the garage. All other gears work fine. Does not grind or anything. It is like the gear does not exist. Anyone have and ideas?

Does the shift lever refuse to go into the 5th gear position, or can you put it in & the engine just spins w/o forward motion?

Default TKO problem

OK- if you are saying that the shift lever will go into the reverse position, but the trans just spins (as in clutch out, engine running)...AND that it just won't go into the 5th gear position, then I think you smoked something in your internal shift linkage/rods. 5th and reverse share two common elements in your trans- the reverse shift rail and the main 5th/reverse shift lever that is attached to the top plate.
