Default Satin black

Not sure if this has been covered, but wanted to verify what is everyone here using for satin black paint, both chassis, engine bay, inner fenders, and even body

I have heard good and bad things about the SEM paint.

I am building a third project and the plan is to throw a simple paint job until I decide the ultimate direction of the build. DO NO hate the satin black

Also pics of other pro touring cars in Satin black around here?

I dig the work on this fighter Camaro:

It has just the right sheen to it.

Sherman Williams Polane Carbide Black. I have looked for a replacement, but nothing beats it.

we use standard base coat black , then we clear it with standard clear coat . then we re-clear it with standox matt clear . the reason we never use hotrod black it it stains and streaks up when you wash it and grease will stain it .

ps , and the standox matt clear , you can change the " sheen " by adjusting the hardner 3to1 vs 4to1

Is the Hot Rod Black considered a flat black?

I have seen some nice engine bays in here in flat black but wondering if it was something other than flat black.

It's more of a satin finish, like the 69 pics posted above
