Transmission Crossmembers

1969 Camaro with a DSE subframe and T56 transmission.
What are my options for the crossmember?
I'm concerned with keeping the exhaust up as close to the floor pan as possible.
I really like what DSE does on their custom builds as it's all built directly into the tunnel, but unfortunately they don't offer these components

Hooker has a very nice piece. I have one in my car and it fits very well. Big openings for exhaust to pass through.

Actually DSE does sell their version of the T56 crossmember, but it's quite spendy.

Can a GM transmission mount be used on it or does it require a special one?
What type of headers did you use ?

I like the way it looks over the Bowler mount I was looking at

What engine you gonna run? I'm running a SBC with my T56 Mag in the DSE subframe. I used a GForce crossmember that was supposed to fit but it required a lot of fabrication to make it work. Unless you have a welder and some fabricating skils, I would not recommend it.

Mine bolted right up with no issues.

I had an energy suspension mount that didn't seem to fit (wouldn't sit down in the pocket of the crossmember). I did some research and saw it required a specific Prothane mount. I will be putting my engine/transmission back in my car in about 2-3 weeks, and haven't tried that mount yet, but will let you know soon. Worst case I may have to slot the holes slightly to bring the crossmember further forward in the car by about 1/8-1/4".

My car is a turbo car, so headers wouldn't be applicable to you. I have stainless works up/forward turbo headers that have been modified.

Other issues mentioned above, mount is specific and dependent if mount makes it fit perfect I MIGHT have to slot the mounting holes.

I really like the looks fo this one too and it really does give a TON of room for exhaust to route through it. I have 3" exhaust through mine and there is room to spare.

I've got the same crossmember. I have a SBC coupled to a T-56. I had to alter mine, but I can't think of a better one, I really like it.

ls3/t56, stainless works, dse subframe and i had to alter mine. I moved it closer to the front of the car and also had to remove a a lot of metal bc it hit my headers.
