Question Tech II Scanner

Hello,

Are there any shops in the San Diego, CA area with a Tech II scanner that can scan my 1966 C10 truck that I put a LY6/6l90 into. I have not had any luck with MATCO or Tech/Force scanners. Dealership is asking ~ $160 just to scan for codes which I think is a little high or am I out of touch?

Thanks in advance

Robert

$160 just to read the codes? That's extreme to me.

You could be having problems with the other scanners if the ECM you are using is CAN based. My Tech II will not read newer cars without the CANdi module and it will not read new Camaros at all apparently.

If someone you know has HPTuners it should be able to scan for codes using the scanner/logger program.

The motor/trans is CAN based. What you said I believe holds true for the MATCO scanner. As for the Tech/Force scanner I am not sure. Will the HPTuners scan for transmission codes?

Can't say for sure, It's not apparent in the software like anything for trans codes, but in the control section you can activate all the transmission functions, so I'm sure the transmission DTCs are available somewhere. I just got the software and have not scanned with it yet.
