ok as i mentioned earlier things move relatively slow but i've vowed to make some progress....actually foregoing my annual SEMA outing to focus on the car...

here's some pics... lots of deliveries lately....3rd member with wavetrac and 35 spline axles

T56 magnum waiting for the install

housing fully assembled.....

Now i had to get the bottom ready for Lizard Skin....used an etching primer first then went to a build primer to assure i had a barrier between metal and Lizard Skin...LS is water base and you had to assure there's no metal contact.

i decided to paint the bottom to cover the LS with a single stage urethane per the recommendations from the rep....i'm going with a gray color similar to the Trans Am Racing look which i'll do inside the hood also...

I'll have picture shortly on how the paint came out...
also working on door skins in between coats..
Heads arrived this week along with the intake so i'll be heading out to the machine shop to start the engine build but i was shocked how expensive 1 ga of single stage urethane cost....$350 WOW trips like that will delay engine hardware....

shooting for Monday to put the car back on wheels (actually they're just rollers but nevertheless) haven't been on wheels for 13 yrs!!!!!!! just painted the DSE quad links to match the rear end housing so maybe i'll have some good pics of progress next wee.

Also i had a good friend come over to help roll the qtr panel lip....came out wonderfull and he did with a body and hammer and metal file...it was like watching someone doing sculpting... i'll have pictures also...

As promised I'm making some progress...here's some pics of the bottom. I got so far ahead of myselft that i didn't take a picture when it was on the rotisserie.

Now i'm working on steering column and pedal assemble. because i've chosen to mount my master cylinder inside the firewall i've had to get a bit creative with space.

I made the pedal assembly adjustable (fwd and aft) approx 2.5" just becuase i felt like i needed to account for some flexibility.

Ok now i had some fun with rims and tires.....i a friend from work who's working on a 67 who has already purchased some rims and tires and let me fit them on my car. 18" 275 up front and 19" 325 in the back....really liked the look and now i'm sure i have room for 335's

Now i'm putting it all together for panel fit and preping for primer....this week i'll tackle door skins and primer.

one more teaser...engine mock up with heads and intake...looking to send to off to the engine builder next week

Thumbs up Looking good!

Nice progress ... car is looking awesome! I especially like the painted Lizard Skin look on the bottom, thinking about painting mine after application of Lizard SKin now!! Did you use the entire 2 gallons or did you use more?

Can you post up some of those fender rolling pictures ... that is a good fit on those 325's. Did you do anything other than the tubs and a roll on the lip?

Thanks for sharing.

Michael
