Default Floor Pan Replacement

I just received my full length floor pans from NPD today and am a little concerned as to how these things will weld in. Let me see if I can explain this. The original pan folds over and spot welds to the rocker panel from under the car. The new pan 90's up and stops. It appears that you spot weld the new ones to the rocker from inside the car. Anyone ever experienced this? Are all replacement pans made this way?

Don't know if it makes a difference, but did you get the American made pans or the overseas pans? They shouldn't be too hard to install, but it pisses me off that when I called to order them, of course, the salesman tells me that they attach to the car just like the factory. I get the panels in and they are different. I questioned the guy several times, but he was too lazy to go out in the warehouse and put his eyes on them. Oh well, at least there won't be any rust when I'm done.
