Default Thunderhill March 9--Speed SF

Since SuperChevyMustangDave didn't do it yet, I thought I'd post a linky to the next track day I'll be doing/attempting (as will Dave G.), given sufficient luck and cooperative drought circumstances: https://www.speedsf.com/events/2018/3/9/thunderhill-east-3-mile/.

It's on a Friday, so you can use your vacation, retirement, sick day, or whatever, and avoid some of the stupid weekend traffic . . .

The motor is out of Old Yeller -- and is at the builder -- who conveniently managed to break his leg bad enough to require surgery....

The new Sutton car - at this point - is a body only....

I feel I have to let Dave have a private track day on Thunderhill so he can get his bearings without any pressure to perform. LOL

I can hear the lap records being broken already.

Far too much of my time spent awake includes people's excuses for why they cannot perform (no, I don't work in porn). What about the "Big Wang" car? Doesn't it need some exercise? Surely Dave could help with the belt situation (or you just don't rev it that high--calculate a bit), with some remote assistance via Skype or something from Ron S. . . .

Can we at least use the garage for sun/rain protection/beer storage?

You're probably right in not going. We'll probably need snow tires.

You won't need the garage -- Dave doesn't use tools....

Big Wang needs the power rack that is here with me in Eye De Ho.....

After I spent a grand on a new belt tensioner it seems to be fine now.... It was just typical of a car I buy from Charley.....

Good work Paul. I was meaning to post something up.

As I told Paul, I ran with Speed SF in December at Laguna Seca and was impressed with them. They take the driver meeting seriously and run a nice tight ship. They also don't overload the day with too many cars. Both things Norcal Shelby is not too great at.

Of course when you're a professional like Weld your attendance is not required at the driver meetings.

First time at Thunderhill... looking forward to it.

I havent been on this forum in quite some time now but Basher mentioned to me that a few of these Lateral G guys do actually use their junk. I log on and low and behold you actually do!!

I am going to try and make it down to T-Hill for this if some parts show up in the next few weeks.

For those of you that live near there, is the weather usually pretty nice? I would love it if you said dry...Oregon is monsooning today.

Looking forward to meeting some new people as well.

Sean

That would be awesome to see the truck in action again, Sean! You might want to give the Speed SF guys a call, just to be sure they won't give you any problems about having a truck (there's usually some kind of disclaimer in this area, so as to prevent people from signing up with tow trucks or brodozers).

The weather here has been ridiculous (good), but that's normal. The scene out my back door is pretty good today, although V-Day is usually pretty decent . . .

Hey Sean... looking forward to seeing your truck. Was just talking to Basher the other day about you guys running the Ridge. Tell that RWB guy to come down and play....

With your track experience I doubt you'll have a problem - but if you want email Patrick Chio <[email protected]> with any questions. They are a good group of guys.
