Advice and or recommendations needed

Need advice/recommendations for cleaning the undercarriage before applying a product like Eastwood Chassis undercoating. Are there any products that you all have found to work well and recommend?

Soap and water and a good brush to get the big crud off, then follow with whatever surface prep the product you're applying requires.

Just use some rattle can paint for the bottom. Way easier to remove for future modifications.

This all depends on how dirty the undercarriage is.

If it's like most project cars I've worked on with years of caked grease and dirt typically start with a scraper. If we're past that stage I hose everything with a strong mix of Purple Power or Dawn dish soap and I let that soak then blast it with a pressure washer. After the pressure washer I'll do the brush boogie as mentioned by Turbo6inKY followed by a good rinse and dry with the air hose. Follow this with whatever temperature and surface prep your coating requires.

Obviously a rotisserie helps immensely with this method but I've done the whole thing on my back using wheel stands while lying on a creeper wearing a raincoat, safety glasses and a face shield.

Rent a Hotsy pressure washer, (or any hot water pressure washer) these things rock and roll. You won't have to scrub or scrape much at all.

That’s the best advice —- and works like a champ — but you should have the body/chassis etc on a rotisserie or up on a lift of some kind so you can really get after it.

Short of that —- I’ve done heat (open flame) and a scraper to get “undercoating”off..... and finish up with 10,000 rags and mineral spirits.... UGH no matter what — it’s an ugly messy nasty job....
