This is something I'm kind of struggling with right now. My car is being built to be reliable and safe but I question the other drivers out there! So I talk to my insurance agent about coverage that would completely replace the car, with it's modifications, and have it available to drive daily in the warmer months (8,000 miles annually) and the price gets a little silly. I'm also in one of those states where the property liability insurance minimum is $10,000! That wouldn't cover a 4 year old Accord!!!

One of the site sponsors on here, LaRue Classics, can help you out there.

I have an agreed upon value with my Chevelle with them. They know this isn't my daily driver, that its kept in the garage, etc. etc.

It's worth it to give him a ring!

not enough. i used to drive it a lot more before I changed jobs. my current commute does not make for a good environment for my car. and it never goes out if there is salt on the roads in winter.

But I just do it when I am alone on the road, and drives mostly "Nice"

I save the "maniac" driving for the track where it is possible, who I plan do as much I can Next year

What or how do YOU use Your car, especially those of you With killer cars?

Do you just cruise, does Your car actually see a track sometimes? (So you can actually use some of this modifications you have done and paid all to much for ) Or does it mostly sit in Your garage?
Your driving style sounds very similar to mine.

Our car was built to be driven, and we have a lot of fun taking it on long trips. With the 5 speed, it's set up to supercruise on the highway, but she really loves the high mountain twisties.

With the new engine, just going in, I have yet to take her on any long weekend trips this year.

I wish it was sunny all year round. This car is such a blast to drive. Alas the season is winding down. I hope that we get a few more sunny weekends.

It's great to have all of these products which can make our cars streetable and perform well.

I used to think I put a fair amount of miles on my car, driving it a few days a week, tracking it, and racking up about 20k on it so far, but the last several cars to roll out of BOS have me beat. Gregg drove from San Diego to Tennessee, up to NY and over to MI. Then Dick got his car done and went on two road trips to tally 11k on the odometer it six months.

Yikes! Looks like my lead is shrinking.
Think I'll drive to Lubbock. That'll be good for another 1,600 miles. Maybe pick up an LS7 while I'm there.

"They know it isn't my daily driver" is the part were I lose the collector car insurance companies. I know of 2 that offer coverage for a daily driven pro-touring car but it gets quite pricey.
I shouldn't whine, my boss pays $8k a year to insure his Ferrari...
